The visa is valid until the expiry of the two-month period of stay, meaning a student coming to the UK would not be able to stay in the country for more than 60 days.
It is also valid for 12 months after the end of the stay.
The second visa, for temporary stay, allows a student to enter the country after 90 days but will only be valid for six months after it expires.
Students who enter the UK for an undergraduate degree at a UK university will be eligible to apply for the visa after the two months of stay expires.
Students who come to the country with a business visa will be allowed to enter for 90-120 days after the 90-day visa expires.
They can also apply for a business passport after the six months of stays expires.
Other options include the Student Investor visa, where students can take up to six months off work and study in the UK before applying for a visa, and the Business Mobility visa, to enable students to stay for two years after the period of study has expired.
The visa allows for 90 day stays, but is subject to conditions, including a commitment by the UK government to take steps to protect the integrity of the visa system.
The Home Office has already announced a clampdown on business visa holders, while visa restrictions have been introduced on students and other low-skilled workers.
