How much does it cost to travel to and from Israel?
The cost of a visa to visit the country can vary depending on your nationality and the type of visa you are applying for.
Here’s how to calculate the cost of your visa and what it might cost to visit.
Visa costThe visa application process takes around four months.
The application form has to be filled in, the Israeli Consulate will check your passport, your visa card and any documents required, and then you’ll be issued a visa with a stamp.
Once you’ve received your visa, you’ll then be allowed to enter the country as long as you’re over 18 and you’ve registered with the Consulate.
Entry to IsraelThere are no entry requirements to Israel.
However, you must be over 18 years old, be an Israeli citizen and not have any criminal convictions.
The passport will have to be valid and your identity verified by the Israeli Police.
Entry into IsraelIf you’re applying for a tourist visa, the process can be considerably more time consuming.
To apply for a visa, your application will have the visa stamp on it.
Then you’ll have to wait for a Consulate official to check that your passport is valid and that you’ve been issued a passport and identity verification by the Israel Police.
Your passport will then have to include the stamp number.
Entry onto the Israeli territoryThe Israeli passport can be valid for up to four years and will have a photo of you and your passport on it, but you must also have your identity and visa information on it (if applicable).
There’s no requirement for a photograph of your passport or visa stamp but it does need to be printed.
Entry on to IsraelYou’ll then have two options for entry into Israel.
The first is by car, with the Israeli Embassy and Border Police checking your identity.
The second is by bus to Tel Aviv.
The Israeli Embassy is located in Tel Aviv and you can usually find the nearest bus terminal.
Entry from IsraelYou can apply for the Israeli visa by visiting the Israeli consulate in Jerusalem, which is at the entrance to the Old City.
You’ll need to have your passport stamped by a police officer or a consular officer and have your name, address and passport details on you.
Arrival on IsraelYou’re then allowed to leave Israel.
There are two main points of entry into the country: entering the city of Tel Aviv or entering the town of Afula.
If you’re traveling by bus, you will need to check with your bus company or the local bus station to ensure your arrival time and route is accurate.
Residence in IsraelYou must have a residence permit to live in Israel and you must have lived in Israel for a minimum of three months during the previous six months.
You must be registered with your local Israeli Police to enter Israel.
You can also apply for residency from abroad.
You have to show proof of residency.
Israeli nationalityIf you don’t have a permanent address and you have a valid Israeli passport, you can apply to live permanently in Israel.

The consular office will then issue you a residence card with the stamp and your personal details.
You may also apply to move to Israel as a visitor if you meet the conditions.
Immigration statusYou will be granted a temporary residence permit.
This is for the duration of the tourist visa.
It’s valid for five years.
After the five years, you have to leave the country and return to the country.
If this doesn’t work out, you may apply for another temporary permit.

Entry for workYou will need a job offer in Israel, and if you’re accepted for a job, your employer will pay you a fixed monthly salary.
However there are no restrictions on the number of hours you can work.
You will be able to stay in Israel while working and you may have a family member working in Israel (if you are married to an Israeli or have children).
You may need to return to your home country for a few months to complete the visa process.
Residency in IsraelAfter five years of residence, you need to apply to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a work permit.
Your application will then be sent to the Consulates Office, which will review your application and decide whether to issue you the visa.
If approved, you are then allowed out of the country for 12 months and you are eligible for the full visa.
Entry through IsraelA tourist visa is valid for 12 hours.
There is no requirement to bring anything with you to the border crossing with Israel, but all passengers will need an identification card and passport.
Entry back into IsraelYou will then need to pass through the Israeli border to get back into the EU.
